Before you go on any trip, you do some research on the places and plan before arriving at the place. That’s what we do. We watch videos and read blog posts so that we are prepared and know what to expect when arriving at our destinations.
Maybe I just watch a lot of YouTube Videos, haha
Here are 7 travel vloggers and bloggers that are inspiring to me (in no particular order):
Strictly Dumpling (Mike)
YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/strictlydumpling
We’ve been watching Mike for a while. From when he used to live in the East Coast and now moved back to New York, he’s a great guy to watch – mostly because of the delicious food that he eats on his channel. He has a vlog channel as well under his name Mikey Chen if you want to check that out.
One of my favourite videos is the one where he ate Kobe Steak that cost him $200 and another that cost him only $20. It looked so delicious, you need to check it out. Unfortunately, we did not have the opportunity to go to Kobe so we didn’t get to eat such deliciousness. Beware not to watch his videos hungry, you’ll get hungrier watching his videos.
Mint Notion (Eden)
Eden is a fellow Canadian (yay!) and talks about travelling smart, especially with regards to finances. I love reading her blog post on how to save money when going to places she’s been to such as Paris and Vegas. Also, if you get a chance, check out her Instagram where you can see such beautiful pictures she’s taken of the places she has been.
My favourite blog post is about 70 travel hacks everyone should know. Isn’t it amazing when people share hacks so that you can avoid making mistakes and make smarter choices? That’s how I feel reading the blog post. Be sure to check out her other posts as well.

Mark is a global traveller and like his shirt often says, he will travel for food. He’s been to so many countries from Ghana to Zurich, from Thailand (his home base) to America. He has two channels, the other one being his vlog channel where you can meet his wife Ying and son Micah. What I enjoy about Mark’s videos is that he is willing to try all the different foods around the world, even durian, and brings us along with his videos.
My favourite video of Mark’s so far is when he travelled to Kenya to meet and eat with his dad. It’s so cool how you learn about Mark’s ancestry in this video as well. He brings his viewers and readers to places that they might not think of travelling, but might be interested after watching his mouth-watering videos. If you love food or watching people eat food, check Mark’s channel out.

Bianca is a travel nurse. How cool is that? She is always travelling, seeing different places all around the world, and bringing us along in her videos. My favourite video so far is her visiting Switzerland and paragliding at Interlaken. The views in the video are just amazingly beautiful.
I have been to Europe and it just reminds me of the natural beauty of the greens and the waters in different areas in Europe.

Paolo from Tokyo
Paolo is from Japan, specifically Tokyo (as the title states, haha). He is such a fun guy to watch. His channel is very informative with different things you can do throughout Tokyo and also other places in Japan. What I like is that he not only talks about what you can do, experience, or eat, Paolo gives you tips based on his experience living in Japan for many years with his fiance Maiko.
My favourite video is the Top 10 things to do in Odaiba Tokyo. Even if you are not interested to go to Tokyo one day, this area seemed like such a fun place to visit. From amusement park to onsen, there seems to be something for the whole family. If you are interested to go to Tokyo, be sure to binge his videos. We know we will before we go in the future.
Internationally Me (Angela)
YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCW_yDyDfu1bpqDNxeobW02Q
We found Angela’s channel while doing our research for our trip to Japan. I love the way that she edits her videos and how she is very enjoyable to watch. She mostly focuses on Japan, so if you are interested to learn more about off the beaten path trips around Japan, check her out.
My favourite video of Angela’s is Osaka’s Hidden Spots. I enjoy watching when someone like Angela introduces things or food that normal brochures or travel agencies do not usually show. She also seems like the friend that is so hospitable and will show you around her favourite spots. If you’re interested in Japan, like we are, check her out for sure.
Hop Scotch the Globe (Kristen & Siya)
YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/hopscotchtheglobe
I recently found Kristen and Siya through a search on YouTube on travel tips and hacks. Check them out if you ever want to learn different travel tips and hacks – Kristen talks about hotel hacks, transportation hacks, etc.
My favourite video of them is where they travelled to Portugal after finding out that their DNA results showed that they both have some Portuguese DNA in them. They are such a fun couple to watch and also give out such valuable information in their videos. Be sure to check them out.
