Father’s Day is next month. This is one of the moments that we get to appreciate the wonderful dads in our lives. On this blog post, I will be sharing on what you can get for a dad of a toddler.
M, my husband, is an amazing dad and father. He is very involved in taking care of K, our toddler. It makes me so happy to have him as my husband and the father to our daughter.
This post was inspired by what I can possibly get him this Father’s day. I hope that you can be inspired by what you can get for the father of your toddler too.

Here are some gifts ideas for a toddler’s dad:

BY CLICKING THE LINKS AND MAKING A PURCHASE, I MIGHT BE EARNING A SMALL COMMISSION AT NO ADDITIONAL COST TO YOU. PLEASE SEE OUR FULL DISCLOSURE FOR MORE DETAILS.

1. Matching Items

Are you one of those people who just love it when a parent and child matches?

I am the type who thinks a couple is cheesy when they are matching, but not if a parent and child are matching. A little contradictory, but it’s so cute to me when the child wears a kid version of what their parent wears.

One of the matching outfits they can wear are these matching shirts. You can get them personalized to what you want them to say, or select from a pre-selected ones. How cute is that!

Another article of clothing they can wear are matching hats. You can also get them hats that has the family name personalized on their hats. Ugh, it’s so cute when they match in their outfits.

I would highly recommend you to check out Etsy for these matching clothing or hats. It’s so cute and you can personalize them if you would like to. Also, you can support local artists. It’s a win-win!

2. Games that both of them can play together

Toddler loves games. They love to play and learn a lot by playing.

Games can be very simple, or a little more complex and it’ll be fun for both parent and child. As long as they understand how it works, it’ll be great.

Here are some games you can get:

  • Balls
  • Pretend Play like Cooking Utensils, Play Toolbox, Doctor’s Play Set, Picnic Basket (we have this one)
  • Puzzles
  • Play Kits
Pretend play is really great for kids. You can pretend that you are a restaurant and the toddler is your server and cook. It’ll be really fun to see what they will come up with for the menu and daily special.
Amazon is a great place to look for these games and other gift ideas. You can also get Amazon Prime trial free for 30 days. Please click on the box below to learn more.

3. Books he can read to them

I read that reading to a child is highly beneficial. Not only they can learn and recognize the words, it is also a great bonding time between the child and the parent.

We read with K (I literally typed out Baby K, but she is not a baby anymore). My husband and I have a small collection of books that we read to her. At first, she would just get up and not really listen to the story. However, as she grew older, she would actually give us the book she wants us to read to her.

Sometimes, she’ll sit in our laps to look at the pages, flip the pages, and listen to the story.

She has a few favorites. They are:

  • Love You Forever
  • Baby Loves Coding! (Gifted by her uncle)
  • The Very Cranky Bear

Books are a great gift for both the parents and the kids. They would develop a love for reading and learning. I think they especially love if you make your voice sound more dramatic than just reading it with your regular voice.

Here are some other book suggestions that you can buy for them:

  • Giraffes Can’t Dance
  • The Little Blue Box of Bright and Early Board Books by Dr. Seuss
  • Z Is For Zamboni: A Hockey Alphabet

Check out the other books as well to see what they might both be interested in.

4. Comical but Practical Gifts

Does your toddler’s dad appreciate a funny gift? Depending on his sense of humor, you can get him certain gifts.

You can get the toddler a backpack with a leash. I used to be that person who looks disapprovingly at parents who hold onto their kids like that. However, as a parent of a toddler now, I understand why.

I’m not sure if I’ll do that with my toddler, but you do what you need to do.

This backpack with a leash is a funny but practical gift. He can hold onto your toddler in case if they run away while you are at a mall or at a park. They are so many designs, but be sure to check them out here.

Another funny gift that you can give to him is this card. It’s so witty but hopefully it’ll make him feel appreciated as a dad.

You know your toddler’s dad best. Keep it lighthearted and you’ll share some laughs for the next little while.

5. Quality Time Being Outdoors

As summer is coming, it’s a great time to be outdoors if they are able to.

Here are some great gift ideas for fathers who love to spend some time outdoors:

  • Bicycle Trailer
  • Outdoor Net with soccer or hockey For the backyard

I hope all these gift ideas are helpful and that your toddler’s dad will love one or more of these gifts. If you have anything to add to this list, please let me know in the comments below.
